Alfredo Pizza

Alfredo pizza is a delicious homemade pizza with a rich sauce, mozzarella, and broccoli. Make my white pizza recipe for dinner tonight.

What is Alfredo Pizza?

If you’ve never had a chance to try a white pizza recipe, you are in for a treat. Unlike traditional pizza with a red spaghetti sauce, this type has an alfredo sauce as the base.

You can make a homemade sauce using cream cheese, milk, and Parmesan cheese. Or, you can save a few minutes in preparing dinner and start with your favorite jarred sauce as I did.

For the dough, you can make my homemade dough (link below), or you can start with a premade dough or frozen or refrigerated dough if you want to.  Make sure that you line the pan with parchment paper to prevent it from sticking.

If you’d like to add another side dish to your meal, Alfredo pizza goes well with a fresh garden salad or a loaf of garlic bread.

Alfredo pizza toppings

Of course, half the fun in making this from scratch is all of the toppings you get to add to make it truly unique.

While you can add any toppings that you like, here are a few crowd favorites.

  • Grilled chicken breast
  • Broccoli
  • Mushrooms
  • Bacon
  • Spinach
  • Roasted red peppers
  • Smoked sausage
  • Shrimp

I kept it simple this time and added lots of fresh broccoli to my homemade Alfredo pizza. Everyone loved it!

Can I use low-fat products?

If you want to cut the fat and calories in this recipe, you can use low-fat sauce.

Or, you can use low-fat cream cheese and milk if you choose to make your own from scratch.

What seasonings are good in Alfredo?

Traditionally, this sauce has only freshly ground black pepper added to it.

But, you can also add lemon juice, garlic, and nutmeg depending on what other foods you’re using for toppings.

If you want to add a bit more flavor to your sauce, you can add grated Parmesan cheese, a little bit of sea salt, and fresh or dried basil.

Experiment until you find the combination that you like the best.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Alfredo pizza is really best when assembled right before you are going to bake it. But, you can make the individual pieces ahead of time if you want to get dinner on the table fast.

  • Pre-make and prebake the crust the day before you want to serve it. Or use the premade type crust.
  • Steam the broccoli before you bake it.
  • Cook chicken ahead of time or use leftover chicken.
  • Shred the mozzarella cheese or buy pre-shredded.

Then, when you need dinner on the table fast you can just put everything together and bake it in the oven!

How can I store leftover Alfredo pizza?

If your family doesn’t completely devour all of this in one sitting, you can definitely save it for another meal. All you need to do is to place slices in a stack, separated by a sheet of parchment paper.

Just alternate the slices on a plate until you run out. Then, wrap the plate with plastic wrap and keep it in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

When you want to reheat the slices, just preheat the oven to 350F. Then, place each slice on a cookie sheet that’s been lined with foil. Bake them for about 10 minutes or until they are completely warm and the cheese is melty.

If you want to reheat this in the microwave, place it on a microwave-safe plate. Then, add a glass that is 2/3 full of water in the microwave. Heat the two together for 45 to 60 seconds. This way, the crust won’t get chewy when you reheat it.
