How To Make Homemade Tortilla Chips

We love to serve these chips when we watch sports games because they’re simple to make and taste great.

Plus, everyone loves fresh tortilla chips! We also love to serve these chips with our spicy ranch dip recipe.

Ingredients

  • Twelve 6 inch white corn tortillas
  • 2 tbs Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions

Like I said they’re really easy to make. Scroll down for the complete recipe and instructions for how to make tortilla chips.

Basically, you’ll grab your tortillas and brush them liberally with a mixture of oil, salt, and spices. 

Next, you’ll cut the tortillas into wedges and bake them in the oven.

After they’re baked, sprinkle them with salt to enhance the flavor. See, it’s really simple to make homemade tortilla chips!

Can You Store Homemade Tortilla Chips?

Certainly, for a little while. You should dab them with a paper towel and allow them to cool completely. Store them in an airtight container.

They’ll store OK, but they’re not as long lasting as bag chips. Simply because they have no added preservatives and crap like that.

How To Make Tortilla Chips

Easy recipe - how to make homemade tortilla chips.

Ingredients

  • Twelve 6 inch white corn tortillas
  • 2 tbs Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Mix vegetable oil, salt and chili powder in a bowl, brush onto both sides of the tortillas
  • Stack and cut tortillas in to 6 wedges each
  • Place tortilla wedges onto a baking sheet (use 2 sheets or make 2 batches)
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes; turning baking sheet around half way
  • Chips are done when they're golden brown and crisp
  • While hot, sprinkle with salt if desired
