How to Make Simple Ball Cheese

Ham cheese balls have the easiest recipe, yet I divided them into different parts so you don’t make any mistakes.

Step One:

Start making an easy ham and cheese ball by dicing cooked ham. Likewise, grate fresh cottage cheese. Put the grated cottage cheese and diced ham in a large mixing ball and mix it nicely.

Step Two:

Add a handful of walnuts to the ham and cheese mixture for a nutty flavor. Add oregano, cranberries, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a separate bowl. Combine the seasoning well. Add fresh cheese to the bowl of spices for a soft texture. Mix everything well.

Combine the cheese seasoning and ham cheese mix. Following this, make small cheesy balls using your hands. Roll cheese balls into chopped parsley before serving.

Expert Cooking Tips

  • Adding extra ingredients like mayonnaise enhances the dish’s overall flavor.
  • Before serving, keep the cheese and ham balls in the fridge to hold the shape well.
  • Toasting pecans before adding them to the ham-cheese mixture enhances the nutty flavor. But if you want to add almonds, slice them well so they can be easy to chew.
  • For garnish, you can use crispy bacon and green onion as well.

What type of ham tastes the best in the easy ham cheese ball?

I always use the deli-cut ham because it is thinly sliced. If you can’t find it, you can also get honey ham or any other ham of your choice.

What to serve with ham cheese balls?

The cream ham cheese ball appetizer tastes the best with crackers and pretzels. You can also enjoy fresh ham cheese balls with baked veggies.

Can I prepare ham cheese balls beforehand?

Yes, preparing cheese balls recipe in advance is possible. You can, in fact, prepare it a day before you want to serve it. Depending on the ingredients, your mini cheese balls can last longer in the refrigerator.

Can cheese balls snacks be frozen?

Freezing cheese ball bites is possible, but when doing so, avoid adding any toppings. Transfer the cheese balls to a sealed container. Add the toppings once your cheese balls are thawed and ready to serve.

For garnishing, you can add crushed pecans. It not only makes the ham cheese delicious but also beautiful.

Storing tips for ham cheese balls

No matter if you made ham cheese balls in a large batch or have leftovers, storing them is possible. For this, carefully wrap the cheese balls in a plastic sheet. This way, you can stop the ham cheese balls from drying and keep them safe.

Dry cheese ham balls do not taste as appetizing as fresh ones. They don’t have a creamy flavor and will leave your mouth dry.

Can I fry ham cheese balls?

You can give a cheese ball a classic twist, extra crunch, and crispiness by frying them. Frying cheese balls in a non-stick pan makes the cheese melt smoothly.

Before frying ham cheese balls, you must gather a few more ingredients, including breadcrumbs, flour, and eggs. Adding a coat of breadcrumbs makes the cheese balls super crunchy. Also, refrigerating the cheese balls makes frying easy.
