If you’ve ever wanted a quick and easy homemade brownie recipe, this is it! With just a few ingredients, you can whip it up in no time. This dessert will give you the chocolaty Easter dessert you’ve been looking for!

Homemade brownie recipe, Easter dessert parfaits

No, we’re not using a boxed brownie mix this time. We’re making them from scratch. But, don’t think it’s complicated. I don’t do complicated recipes!

The easier, the better right? I think so.

Homemade Brownie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Flour
  • Cocoa powder
  • Sugar
  • Whipped topping
  • M&M’s
  • Food coloring
  • Dove Chocolate Candies

Directions

The first thing we’ll do is make the homemade brownies. So easy and we use just a handful of ingredients. I’ve been using this brownie recipe for years. It’s wonderful with ice cream, whipped topping, or adding to other desserts.

Why do I add it to other things to make desserts? Because this brownie recipe is on the small side. It yields an 8×8 or 9×9 pan of brownies. So I cut them up into small pieces and create a new dessert every time I make them!

Begin by stirring together the dry ingredients in one bowl. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and melted butter together.

Pour the liquid mixture over the dry mixture and stir together until well combined.

Add the homemade brownie batter to a greased (with butter) square baking pan.

Bake them in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, remove and add the M&M’s to the top. Continue baking until done, about 27-32 minutes more.

Homemade Brownies

Once the brownies are done and cooled, you can fold in a few drops of food coloring with your whipped topping.

Add layers of whipped topping and brownies to parfait dishes and top with a couple of M&M’s!

See? Super simple!

Ingredients

  • 2 Count Large eggs
  • 1 Stick Butter Melted
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/3 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tub Whipped topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Stir together cocoa powder, sugar, salt and flour in a bowl
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the melted butter and eggs together
  • Pour the liquid mixture over dry mixture and stir until combined
  • Add batter to greased 8 or 9 inch square baking pan
  • Bake in the oven for 10 minutes; remove from oven and add M&M's to top of brownies (this prevents M&M's from sinking to the bottom)
  • Return to oven, bake additional 17 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  • Allow to cool, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • Slowly fold drops of food coloring into your whipped topping until desired color is reached
  • Add to serving dish and alternate with whipped topping, adding M&M's® Easter Sundae on each level
  • Drizzle with melted DOVE Milk Chocolate candies

Notes

These brownies are simple to make and give you a nice chocolatey flavor. You can make them into parfaits or simply serve them with whipped topping.
I like to drizzle melted chocolates on top for added zing!
