Wondering how to grill hot dogs? Do you want to conquer your grilling skills this year? That starts with the basics, like grilling the perfect hot dog! Grilling hot dogs is pretty easy to do, and you’ll get the hang of it real quick.
Fire up your grill to high heat for about 10 minutes before cooking. Once preheated on high, reduce the heat to medium.
Using tongs, place the hot dogs across the hot grill grates. Roll the hot dogs often to assure you get nice grill marks all around.
Once the hot dogs begin to expand, but before they split or pop, they’re done. Some people like more char than others, so split hot dogs isn’t always a bad thing!
If you’d like to toast your hot dog buns, you can move the hot dogs to the top rack. Butter the buns and toast them on the grill for about 30 seconds each side.
Plate your grilled hot dogs, top with your favorite toppings and chow down!
