Lasagna Recipe

The best beef lasagna recipe with a rich sauce and creamy cheese.

Who doesn’t love a good lasagna? It’s delicious food that can easily feed a crowd. It’s also a great meal to bring to a potluck. That’s because it freezes and reheats well. Plus, the lasagna leftovers can keep you happy for days.

My simple lasagna recipe tastes yummy and is easy to prepare. You surely need a good number of ingredients, but the preparation is not confusing. It’s actually a family recipe that my mother has taught me.

After preparing it once, I liked it so much that I ended up making it almost every month. While it’s a family recipe, I have given it my twist to enhance its flavors. You do not need ricotta to prepare this homemade lasagna.

No matter if you are an expert cook or like to cook once in a while, you can replicate my recipe’s taste. Scroll down to know the recipe.

Baked Lasagna Recipe

Delicious Beef Lasagne

I have always liked eating restaurant-style lasagna. But my mother hated the idea of eating restaurant food. So, she started preparing delicious meat lasagna that I totally love.

This meat lasagna recipe has homemade lasagna sauce, cheese, meat, and spices, which gives a wonderful taste. If you have prepared the dish in large batches, it can be nicely stored in an airtight container.

I like to prepare this easy cheese lasagna recipe for get-togethers, parties, or simply for dinner. The big warm, comforting hugs of tomato sauce, meat, and cheese within the sheets of pasta never fail to impress me.

But it’s not the kind of recipe that you would want to salivate over when you are on a low-carb, keto diet. Although I have added enough ingredients to my healthy lasagna recipe, you can add more to get an extra punch of flavors.

Steps to Make Delicious Beef Lasagne

I have divided my homemade lasagne recipe, so you do not get confused.

Step One:

For preparing my lasagna dish, you need some veggies. Take an onion and wash it thoroughly. Roughly dice the onion and keep it aside. Take two garlic cloves, peel them, and mince them. Take a fresh and juicy carrot, peel it, and dice it evenly.

Step Two:

This step of homemade lasagna food requires you to cook the veggies. So, take a nonstick frying pan, and drizzle some olive oil to cook diced onion and minced garlic. Cook it for some time, add diced carrots and cook everything for a couple of minutes.

Add in ground beef and cook until the meat has turned brown. After the meat has cooked, you can add chopped parsley and tomato sauce. Cook everything for 5-10 minutes and then set it aside.

Step Three:

Lastly, you need to take a casserole pan and nicely butter it. At the bottom, add a layer of meat sauce and a layer of lasagna sheet. Then add a layer of meat sauce, bechamel sauce for lasagna, and sprinkle some cheese. Repeat this process a couple of times. At last, add a layer of grated cheese on the top. Bake the dish for 40 minutes at 375F. Enjoy it hot.

Key Notes:

  • While preparing lasagna, you must never forget to drain beef. Skipping this step can make the meat sauce taste too greasy, which might make you regret it later. Also, the lasagna cheese already has fat. So, eliminating extra fat from the dish will make it taste better.
  • You can either go for store-bought tomato sauce or can prepare it fresh at your home. If you are preparing the sauce home, try adding herbs to get that extra punch of flavors in your lasagna.
  • Baking lasagna for a long time might make the sheet turn firmer. Prolonged baking can make the lasagna sheets turn firmer. After baking, let the lasagna sit for a couple of minutes, so the ingredients get settled.

How to store the leftovers?

If you have prepared lasagna in a large batch or have leftovers, you can store it in the fridge. Transfer the lasagna to an airtight container to stay fresh for five days.

How to reheat unbaked frozen lasagna?

If you have frozen unbaked lasagna sheets, you can reheat them after unwrapping all the layers of foil. Put the sheets into a casserole dish, cover, and let it thaw overnight. After this, you can directly bake the sheets.

How to reheat baked lasagna?

If you have baked lasagna, you need to transfer it to a casserole dish, cover it, and let it thaw. After a few hours, cook it in the oven at 350F.

What to serve with lasagna?
