Delicious Mini Egg Frittatas Recipe

Spinach Frittata

Spinach frittatas have always been my ultimate savior because they are easy to put together. You don’t need tons of ingredients to bring out a blast of flavors. It’s simple to cook and can make a yummy breakfast throughout the week.

Easy spinach frittatas can also be enjoyed cold, as the dish tastes equally tasty. Besides being tasty, spinach egg white frittata is equally healthy, providing plenty of lean proteins, minerals, and vitamins.

I have been preparing spinach frittatas for a while now. But each time I make it, I enjoy its flavors even more.

What I like most about this is its variation. Some days, I add sundried tomatoes to my spinach frittatas, heavy cream, or extra veggies to make them even more flavorful. Or I simply make my spinach frittatas spicier by adding cayenne pepper.

Steps to Make Spinach Egg Frittata

Making spinach egg frittata is super simple and easy. But I have divided the recipe into different steps so you don’t get confused between the process.

Step One:

To prepare spinach frittata, you first need to take a large bowl. Add six large eggs to the bowl and whisk them properly. Then slowly add Greek yogurt, salt, and pepper to taste. Whisk the ingredients for some time till they get properly mixed.

step-1

Step Two:

Take a nonstick frying pan, add olive oil and let it heat for a while. Then add baby spinach and diced onion. Sautee them for a few minutes till they get nice and soft.

step-2

Then slowly pour the egg mixture into the pan and cover the dish with a lid. Let the spinach frittata dish cook for 10 minutes and serve hot.

Key Notes

  • You can add crispy bacon to your egg white frittata recipe for extra flavors. To add bacon, you first need to cook the bacon strips over medium heat for some time. Once the bacon strip gets crispy, take them out of the pan and put them on paper, so the excess oil is soaked. Once the fried bacon cools down, cut it into small pieces and add it to the egg mixture.
  • Besides spinach, you can add other veggies as well. But make sure you cook the veggies for a good amount of time before pouring the egg mixture into the pan. Adding raw veggies to the frittata can make your dish taste terrible.
  • You can always add goat cheese or savory feta to get a rich, creamy taste to your spinach frittata recipe.
  • Always use baby spinach for the recipe but if you don’t get baby spinach, use regular spinach. Properly clean the spinach under running water and roughly chop it into bite size.
  • Do not overcook the spinach, onion, or other veggies because then they won’t taste good in the dish.

What are some fancy variations of the egg white frittata recipe?

The egg white frittata recipe has many variations because different ingredients can be added to this dish. For instance, if you don’t have frozen spinach, you can use roasted potatoes, leaks, peas, or even sauteed kale. If you entirely want to cut on the veggies, add ham, bacon, or parmesan cheese for more flavors.

How to store spinach frittata leftovers?

If you have prepared spinach frittatas in a large batch, you can use it as a sandwich filling. Or you can simply cut the frittata into small square or circle shapes to enjoy them as a delicious lunch.

Can frozen spinach be used for the dish?

Yes, you can use frozen spinach. Before adding it to your dish, thaw the spinach for a while. Then remove as much liquid as possible, so your dish does not turn soupy.
