Ingredients for Sriracha Chicken Wraps
- 8-8″ flour tortillas
- 2 Cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 Cup cilantro Minced
- 8 – 10Â chicken tenderloins
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions for Sriracha Chicken Wraps
First, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Then, mix salt and paprika together and sprinkle over both sides of chicken.
Next, place chicken on grill and cook for about 15 minutes, turning halfway through. The internal temp should reach 165 degrees F. And allow chicken to cool before cutting into small chunks.
Then, place a handful of chicken on each flour tortilla, top chicken with sriracha dressing, cheese, and cilantro. Make sure to wrap tightly.
I’ve added cilantro and mozzarella cheese to my wrap. But you can add your favorite fresh vegetables as well. Maybe you may want to try lettuce, chopped tomatoes, avocado, and red onion.
Also, cilantro is an acquired taste, and not everyone enjoys it. But you can certainly leave it out of the recipe if you want to.
Or you can substitute fresh parsley or baby spinach leaves instead if you prefer.
If you want this sandwich to be a little bit spicier, you can add more Sriracha sauce. Or if you prefer it milder, you can use less. Then, add a bit of honey to the sauce to cut the heat.
What does Sriracha taste like?
If you’re not familiar with sriracha, it’s a hot sauce that is similar to chili sauce. It’s made from a mixture of chili peppers, white vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt.
You can make your own sauce if you prefer. Or start with your favorite brand from the grocery store.
Next, grill for one minute on each side.
I started with grilled tenderloins when I made these wraps. But if you don’t feel like grilling, any cooked poultry will work just as well with this recipe.
Also, you can pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store. Or you can use leftover meat from last night’s dinner.Â
Or if you want a crispy sandwich, you can use coated tenders in place of the grilled tenderloins. It’s not quite as healthy as the original recipe. But it’s just as delicious.
Frequently asked questions
Are chicken wraps supposed to be cold?
I like to toss my sriracha wraps on the grill for a few minutes before I serve them. It helps melt the cheese. And I love the way it gives the tortilla a little crunch.
But you can serve this just as easily cold if you’d prefer. Or you can put it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up.
Can I make sriracha chicken wraps ahead of time?
If you want to make the chicken ahead of time you can grill it. Then, put it in the refrigerator until you need it. Cooked chicken will stay good for 3 to 5 days in a tightly covered container.
You can also make the sriracha ranch dressing the day before. Then when it’s time to make dinner, all you’ll need to do is to put the ingredients together and serve.
What can I serve with this recipe?
If you add fresh vegetables to your wrap, this is a complete meal on its own. However, if you want to serve a side dish along with it, here are a few ideas.
- Side garden salad
- Potato chips
- French fries
- Sliced peppers and carrots
- Fruit salad
How can I store leftovers?
If you have leftovers when you make these Sriracha Chicken Wraps, you can store them wrapped in tin foil for up to three days. Then, just heat them slightly in the microwave before you want to serve them.
However, you cannot freeze the pre-made filling in this recipe. Because mayonnaise does not freeze well and it will separate in the freezer and ruin the sandwich.
Sriracha Chicken Wraps with Lettuce
If you want to cut the carbs on this recipe, you can skip the tortilla and instead use lettuce leaves. The best type of lettuce to use in place of a wrap is Boston Bibb Lettuce.
