Stuffed Pork Chops

I have been wanting to try making stuffed pork chops for a while now but have just kept putting it off. These easy pork chops with stuffing were definitely worth making. 

They are filled with a mixture of traditional stuffing and cranberries. They make a wonderful alternative holiday dinner. Or, they are a perfect choice for a romantic dinner at home.

Bone-in or boneless pork chops?

You can really use either bone-in or boneless chops. They will both work well in this recipe. The important thing to remember when choosing a cut of meat for this recipe is to make sure that they are at least 3/4″ thick. 

You will need to be sure that they are thick enough so that you can cut a pocket in the side for the stuffing. If you’re not sure, ask your butcher to cut the pocket for you. They will be able to determine the best cut of meat.

How do you make stuffed pork chops?

Even though the final presentation is gorgeous, this recipe is quite simple to make. There are just a few basic steps you need to follow.

  • Season and brown the pork chops in oil until they are golden brown.
  • Mix the stuffing with cranberries.
  • Stuff the pork chops and arrange the fruit mixture around the chops.
  • Bake until done.

Tips for making this recipe

  • I’ve used Stove Top Stuffing to make my stuffed pork chops recipe. It saves a lot of prep time and we love the flavor. But, if you want to make your own stuffing from scratch, you can definitely do that too.
  • Don’t overcook the pork chops when you’re browning them. You just want to seal in the flavor. If you cook them too long, they will dry out in the oven while you’re baking them. 
  • This recipe makes about enough for 3 pork chops. If you have extra stuffing, you can arrange it around the outside of the chops when you bake them.

Should I cover stuffed pork chops?

I like to cover the chops when I bake them to help keep the moisture in. You don’t have to cover them if you don’t have foil. 

If you want the stuffing to be crispy when you take it out of the oven, remove the foil for the last 10 minutes or so of baking time. If you keep the foil on the whole time, it won’t get crispy.

How long should I bake stuffed pork chops?

It really depends on how thick your chops are, how much you browned them, and how much stuffing you’ve used. A good rule of thumb is about 45 to 60 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are tender. 

It’s important that you always cook pork until the internal temperature reaches 145F. Just use your meat thermometer and insert it into the thickest part of the meat.

How do I store leftovers?

If you have leftovers, you can cover each chop tightly with tin foil and store it in the refrigerator for three to five days.

I would not recommend freezing this recipe because the fruit will be mushy when you reheat it.

When you want to reheat your leftovers, remove the foil, add them to a baking dish, and add a bit of water to keep them from drying out. Then, reheat them at 350″ for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Don’t overcook them. Remember, they are already cooked, you just need to heat them up.

Make sure that you cover the pan tightly to keep the moisture inside when you reheat them. 

Stuffing For Pork Chops

Here’s my little secret to these incredibly easy stuffed pork chops; the stuffing.

Don’t overthink the stuffing for pork chops, you can use box stuffing and jazz it up a little bit. Yes, exactly what you think I mean, stuffing straight out of a box. No, it’s not only for Thanksgiving 😉

We’re adding cranberries to our Stove Top Stuffing after it’s been cooked. A real simple way to add flavor to the pork chop stuffing recipe.

Simply use 1 box of Stove Top Stuffing and 1/2 cup of dried cranberries. Boom pork chop stuffing is done!

Stove Top has all sorts of different flavors, pick the one you think will go great with pork; or go with the original for a more classic flavor.

Stuffed Pork Chops Recipe

It’s time to make this stuffed pork chops recipe. First, we’ll gather all of our ingredients. Then we’ll get everything made.

First the stuffing, then the pork chops. It’ll all come together at the end for a delicious dinner!



Pork Chops

  • Pork Loin Chops, sliced along the center to accept stuffing
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Apples (your choice; honey crisps work nice)
  • Red onion; sliced
  • Yam or Sweet Potato, sliced thickly
  • Garlic cloves (minced)
  • Thyme


  • Apple juice
  • Maple syrup

Making stuffed pork chops is real easy to do. Follow these instructions and you’ll have a delicious dinner in no time.

Of course, we always use the easy way, but you’re more than welcome to make your own homemade stuffing if you wish!


Cook the stuffing according to the directions on the box.

Once complete, add the cranberries to the stuffing and mix them together.

Stuffed Pork Chops

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F., heat an oven-safe skillet on the stovetop with oil.

Add salt and pepper to the pork chops and sear on the skillet.

Once seared, stuff the pork chops with the cranberry stuffing mix.

Arrange the apples, sweet potato slices, red onions, and garlic around and on top of the pork chops in the skillet.

Mix the apple juice and the maple syrup together and drizzle over top.

Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and bake the pork chops in the oven for 45 to 60 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are tender and pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F..

Spoon the juices from the pan over the pork and serve!

  • Make stuffing according to the package instructions, add cranberries and mix together

  • Add salt and pepper to the pork chops, sear in the skillet
  • Stuff the pork chops with the cranberry stuffing mix
  • Arrange the apples, sweet potatoes, red onions, and garlic on top and around the pork chops
  • Mix apple juice and maple syrup together and drizzle on the pork
  • Cover skillet with foil and bake in oven for 45-60 minutes or until sweet potatoes are tender
  • Spoon pan juices over top and serve
