Looking for a Thanksgiving leftovers recipe? Well, make this easy Thanksgiving leftover turkey pizza recipe with the leftovers from your Thanksgiving feast.
There is just so much good food to eat during the holidays that I always end up having some leftovers in the refrigerator. And I’m never sure what to do with them.Â
One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is knowing that I will be able to enjoy leftovers for a few days after the big meal. After all, I look forward to these foods all year. So, why not enjoy them as long as I possibly can?
Of course, you can always heat them up the next day and enjoy them. But sometimes I want something just a little bit different.
Thanksgiving Leftover Pizza Recipe
There are lots of different types of food you might have left over after the holidays. But, in my home, it’s usually turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
Thankfully, this delicious turkey pizza recipe uses all three of those ingredients. And, since Friday is often movie night, it’s the perfect time to make homemade pizza.
How to Make Thanksgiving Leftover Pizza
- Pizza pan or large baking sheet
- Food processor with a dough blade if you want to make your own crust
- Cheese shredder if you want to shred your own cheese
Thanksgiving Leftover Pizza Crust
I like to use a cauliflower crust because it helps cut the carbs and it’s a great gluten-free alternative. But you can use a traditional pie crust from the store. Or you can make your own. Either of these options would work great for this recipe.
Also, you may want to try this no yeast pizza dough. It’s one of our favorites.
Thanksgiving Leftover Pizza Cheese
I used Havarti when I made this because I love the way it tastes with the cranberry sauce. But you could definitely substitute something else if you prefer.
For example, a combination of mozzarella and mild cheddar cheese would taste just as good. Or you can use plain mozzarella for a more traditional pizza taste.
Can I add other leftovers?Â
The more the merrier! You can certainly add other types of foods if you want to. I think adding a layer of creamy mashed potatoes under the stuffing would be a delicious combination.Â
And you could add a bit of turkey gravy to the top of the cheese as well. So, go ahead and experiment until you find the perfect combination your family loves.
How to Store Leftover Pizza
This is one of our favorite Thanksgiving leftovers recipes. So, we don’t usually have any extra to save for another day.
But if you do, you can wrap each individual piece of turkey pizza in plastic wrap or tin foil. Then, store it in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
If you want to store it for longer than that, place the wrapped pieces in a freezer bag and store them in the freezer. They will be good for up to six months. Then to defrost it, let it thaw in the refrigerator. And heat it up in the oven or microwave.
