Steps to Make Delicious Tuna Pasta Recipe

I have separated the steps of salad preparation into two steps for you to follow easily. Ready, get set, go!

Tuna Pasta Salad

Equipment Needed

Tuna Pasta Salad: Step One

Preparing the tuna pasta salad begins by boiling a small portion of the pasta as instructed. You can use any pasta, like small shells, penne, bow-shaped, rotini, or any of your favorite bite-sized pasta.

I prefer rotini and small shells because the cream goes inside them, and they grab the dressing well. This thing further gives the salad a rich, creamy taste.

After cooking the pasta, drain the water and cool it under ice-cold water. After cooling, place the pasta in a separate bowl. Moving further, put canned tuna after draining it. Next, add cherry tomatoes, properly diced onions, and frozen peas.

Once you have added all the ingredients, then combine them well.

Tuna Pasta Salad: Step Two

This step begins by adding flavors to the salad. Take half a cup of mayo and add it to the salad. Next, add sour cream and season the dish with salt as per taste.

You can even add pepper, dried dill, and finely chopped parsley to enhance the taste. After adding everything, combine the salad properly till each piece of pasta gets properly covered in mayo, sour cream, and spices.

Expert Cooking Tips

  • If you are using macaroni, you can reduce the amount of pasta while keeping the number of other ingredients. But if you are using any other suggested pasta, you can freely add more/less the suggested quantity to make it perfect as per your taste.
  • To add more crunch and antioxidants to your salad, you can add celery. Put one cup of celery, and it will make a perfect addition to your creamy salad.
  • For the dressing, you can even include dijon mustard and garlic. Also, you can add an extra tablespoon of red wine vinegar to add extra flavor to the salad.

Should I Add Tuna Pasta to my Fitness Diet?

The tasty and creamy tuna pasta is quite popular among fitness addicts and bodybuilders. That’s because this salad requires lean meat that doesn’t have much fat in it. It’s a fantastic source of protein, with calories and fat content low.

Choose tuna canned in water and not oil to make it healthier. So, if you want to increase your protein intake in a delicious and creamy way, add tuna pasta salad to your fitness diet.

How Long Can I Store Tuna Pasta Salad?

If you have prepared a larger quantity of salad or want to store it, use an airtight container. Put the salad in the container. Preserving the salad in an airtight container can increase its shelf life.

It will stay edible for around 3 to 5 days. So, make sure that you finish the salad in the given time; otherwise, it will go bad.

How to Make Tuna Pasta Salad Taste Better?

Add cottage cheese if you are not a fan of mayo and want to make your salad taste better after replacing this ingredient. It will give the dish a rich, creamy taste, and the flavors will also be not compromised.

If not cottage cheese, you can switch to plain greek yogurt. It’s an excellent substitute because it’s healthy and tastes yummy.

How to Make Tuna Pasta Less Fishy?

For this, you can add sugar, grapes, and pickles. Sweet overtones can balance the fishy taste.
