Let’s talk about Valentine’s Day gift ideas.
No one is great at gifting for Valentine’s Day, no one. Seriously, husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends. No one.
But today, we’re making a really simple DIY Valentine’s Day gift that can be for her, for him, your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife.
This craft project is really easy to make. I’m also going to leave you with a bunch of great Valentines gift ideas at the end of this post.
Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas
This inexpensive DIY Valentines day wooden heart will melt the heart of your loved one this year. It also makes a lovely little home decor project. Maybe you just want to keep it for yourself and hang it up to decorate your house!
Basically, you’re only going to spend $2 on this idea.
The only thing we bought for this project is the wood heart and the metal love sign. Other than that, everything else was in the art supply closet at home.
Supplies:
- Metal Love Sign – Dollar Tree
- Pallet Heart – Dollar Tree
- White Chalk Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Early American Stain
- Glue Gun or other crafting glue
Instructions:
These are the instructions for making the Valentine’s gift DIY wooden heart.
Paint The Wood
Begin with your wooden heart. Paint every other wooden slat using the white chalk paint.
Apply two coats of paint, allowing it to dry between coats.
Stain The Wood
Next, stain the slats that are not painted using the wood stain and allow it to dry.
Attach Love Sign To Heart
Attach the love sign to the wooden heart with glue. Use hot glue or other crafting glue. Attach it near the center.
If you’d like, do a dry fitting without glue and see how you wish to position the love sign on the heart.
You can place it across the center level, or you can attach it at a slight angle for a more unique look.
That’s all there is to making this easy DIY Valentine’s Gift for your loved one. Now it’s ready to be gifted!
If you want to switch it up, you can paint and-or stain the heart and letters any color you wish!
Try using black for the word Love….
