This brunch cocktail is the perfect choice when you’re hosting brunch. Try this vodka cocktail the next time you are having guests over.

When you’re hosting brunch, you want it to be a little bit more special than your standard breakfast or lunch recipe.

Brunch Cocktail

Light, fruity beverages are perfect for brunch.

It’s traditional to add orange juice cocktails or cranberry juice cocktails to mimic the traditional juice that’s served with breakfast.

What’s a good alcoholic drink for the morning?

There are many different brunch cocktails that will work. Pair a light, fruity juice with your favorite alcohol.

While I really love this cocktail that’s made with a combination of cranberry and orange juices, you might want to try one of these:

  • Watermelon Martini
  • Tequila Sunrise
  • Screwdriver
  • Greyhound

What should I serve with a brunch cocktail?

Any traditional breakfast food will pair nicely with your favorite cranberry juice cocktails. Just a few of my favorite choices are:

  • Quiche Lorraine
  • Blintzes
  • Smoked salmon and egg salad on a baguette

What type of glass is right for brunch cocktails?

That will really depend on the type of cocktail you’re serving.

Mimosas are often served in champagne flutes.

Screwdrivers can be served in a highball glass.

A martini will normally be served in a martini glass.

Really, it doesn’t matter what type of glass you serve your brunch cocktails in. All that matters is that your guests enjoy the taste.

We’re serving our vodka cocktail in mason jar mugs.

So, feel free to use whatever you have in the kitchen.

What do I need to make this orange juice cocktail?

This is a very simple vodka cocktail. It works wonderfully with brunch. But, you could also serve it during the afternoon or even in the evening.

Ingredients

  • Cranberry juice
  • Orange juice
  • Vodka
  • One orange

How do I make this brunch cocktail?

You will need to start this recipe the night before. So, make sure you plan ahead if you want to serve this. It’s important that the ice cubes have enough time to freeze completely.

  • The night before, mix cranberry juice and orange juice together and pour them into the ice cube trays.
  • The next morning, add ice cubes to each glass.
  • Add the vodka and the orange juice.
  • Garnish with a slice of orange.
  • Serve.

Can I use regular ice cubes if I forget?

You can use regular ice cubes if you forget to make the cranberry and orange juice ice cubes.

But, be aware that as the ice cubes melt, they will water down your cocktail.

What else can I add for a garnish?

Traditionally, this brunch cocktail is garnished with a slice of orange. But, if you want to add something else, you could also use slices of lime and lemon.

Other options include a spring of mint, a basil leaf, or even candied ginger. You could even add a maraschino cherry if you like.

What is the best orange juice for a brunch cocktail?

We’ve made this beverage several times using different brands of orange juice and they were all delicious.

I’m sure your favorite brand will be just perfect.

We generally get a brand without pulp for a smooth texture.

But, if you want to kick this up a notch, you can try fresh-squeezed orange juice with the pulp.

Without cranberry ice cubes, add 2 oz cranberry juice to each glass instead of 1oz.
