If you haven’t guessed, we love going to Disney World and I love reporting on it here on the blog. It’s a special place to visit and while many people think where you stay doesn’t matter, I would beg to differ. We LOVED the Walt Disney World Swan Resort!
Our first trip to Disney, we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. While it was nice, included transportation to Disney Springs by ferry boat, the beds were a little uncomfortable and it was more of a motel type setting. The Swan on the other hand is a straight up resort hotel with everything you can imagine. The Swan is definitely the place to stay!
The room was spacious and comfortable. We got a two queen Deluxe, it had a nice little desk with chair, tv, dresser, closet to store your luggage and hang your clothes and a regular bathroom – nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable.
The place is huge and hard to get a picture of the entire resort. I took this photo from the bridge that leads to the Boardwalk…
The Swan is within walking distance Disney’s Boardwalk, which has restaurants, shops, and bars and it just a fun place to relax after a busy day at the parks. They have a bakery which sells delicious cupcakes too 😉
You can even see fireworks from the water’s edge, I think it was the Epcot fireworks show!
It’s a nice place to just unwind after a long day at the parks. We loved dining at the ESPN Club, and we also ate at Big River Grille & Brewing Works, where we got some seasonal beers and delicious food. We stopped into the Il Mulino Lounge, just inside the resort, for a bite to eat and a drink one evening after a long day at Disney!
The Swan offers pools, a beach, ferry boat to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and The Boardwalk… But really, you can walk to The Boardwalk unless you feet really hurt (they might! lol) The boat will get you to the other side of the boardwalk, which is about a half mile, maybe a bit more, from the resort.
The bus transportation will bring you to all of the Disney Parks and even Disney Springs. Note: There is no airport transportation available. We used Happy Limo and they were right on time both on arrival and departure!
While The Swan is a third party resort, it feels like you’re staying right at Disney! You have all the awesome amenities and the service is exactly what you would expect of any Disney vacation destination. It was so large that I had to walk over to The Dolphin resort in order to get a good picture of The Swan!
We loved it and I know you will to!
